Charities supported by St Philip & St James', Leckhampton, Cheltenham

We actively support several charities, including:

Make poverty history: The biggest ever anti-poverty movement came together under the banner of Make Poverty History in 2005. In 2007, the fight against poverty continues.

We are also a Fairtrade church and support Traidcraft.

Christian Aid: We believe in life before death. Christian Aid works in over 60 countries helping people, regardless of religion or race, to improve their own lives and tackle the causes of poverty and injustice.

The Thomas Charles Trust started as the The Thomas-Hannah Appeal in November 2003 to support young adults with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) as they leave the state education system. It is a widely held belief that the state provides tailored support for those that need life-long care. This is a misconception. The reality is that no such provision exists. Thomas was a young man who, upon leaving the education system, spent most of his last months living in a hospital ward because there was no alternative. Tom simply needed a place to call home, with the support of carers and nursing staff.

The Church Mission Society (CMS), a voluntary society working with the Anglican Church and other Christians around the world.

The United Society for the Propogation of the Gospel (USPG) enables people to grow spiritually, to thrive physically and to have a voice in an unjust world.
